Note : Henry Fox lived on or near his fathers place in Richland District, South Carolina until about 1814, then he moved his family to Cocke Co., Tenn. After seeing a fight between two women at a public gathering, he move to Tuscaloosa County, Ala. and settled on the Sipsey River about 13 miles north of the city of Tuscaloosa about 1819 Henry and Sarah moved about 1835 to Choctaw Co, Miss near Slate Springs. He and his family were charter members of Bethany Baptist Church which was organized in 1836. Henry, Sarah and several of his children are buried in the family cemetery on his homeplace near Slate Springs, Miss

He married Ann, daughter of Colonel John West (1632-1683), nephew of Thomas, 3rd Lord Delaware.[10] Henry Fox was prominent in the affairs of the county, holding at one time or another every high office. He was a vestryman of St. Johns Parish, King and Queen County, in 1695, and continued to serve when the county fell within the bounderies of King William County. He served on the jury of the "Gene" Court held at James Citty Octobr ye 24th 1691 [11] He was magistrate {"Justice") in King and Queen prior to February 1698, at which time he was "recommended by the Council to his former place on Commission of the peace." The recommendation was approved by the Governor At a council of his Majestys Royal College of William and Mary on March 12, 1701/2, his Excellency, Governor Francis Nicholson, with the advice of his Majestys Honorable Council, nominated and appointed the Justices for the new county of King William. The name of Henry Fox was first on the list, [12] Henry Fox was commissioned sheriff of King William on February 17, 1702. (King William Records, I, p. 149) For a period of time around 1685, Henry Fox, Gentleman, was Burgess from King William County. The Virginia land purchase and death location of Captain John Fox, the Immigrant, was in Gloucester County, VA. The location was noted in the VA Land Grant Image to his "son and heir" Henry Fox (Fox-459) Image 1, 16 Apr 1683. The fourth line of the land grant image described the land "lying in New Kent and Gloucester Counties..." Capt. John Fox had purchased 200 acres of this land about 1682 in Gloucester County from Mr. Thomas Hanks, and his son Henry Fox inherited this land and added 100 additional acres "newly taken up" for the transportation of two persons into the colony. The dividing line of these two counties ran through this 300 acres VA Land Grant to son Henry Fox, dated 16 Apr 1683. William Fox, the son of Henry Fox and Unknown Hawes,[1] was born about 1545.[2] He married Anne, the daughter of Henry Lane of Great Missenden, and had four children prior to his death. See "Fox of Great Missenden" in The Visitation of Buckinghamshire in 1634.[1] Williams FindAGrave memorial shows his birth in 1545 and his death in 1578, but the only sources given are to online family trees. There is no gravestone
