Thomas Jr Hinton WILLIAM Notes:	Thomas Hinton, variously called either senior or junior, was born in Maryland around 1719. The DAR lists his year of birth as c. 1715, but his parents were not wed until 1718. He was the eldest son of Thomas and Rachael (Howard) Hinton. Some time before 1736, he married Rebecca, maiden name uncertain (other genealogies suggest Wilson). On March 27, 1756, his namesake father sold him the 100 acre "resurvey on Saplin Ridge" in Frederick County, which had been founded in 1748. He served with his namesake son in the 5th Company of the Upper Battalion of the Montgomery County, Maryland, Militia, during the American Revolution. Montgomery County was formed from Frederick County in 1776. The 1790 Census shows him with his wife, one other adult man, and one adult woman. He died shortly after this.
