ABIGAIL8 COWLES, dau. of Samuel2 (2), b. Jan. 6, 1663-4 at Farmington, Conn. ; joined the chbrch in 16gr~ living in 1718; m. May, 1678, Thomas Porter, b. Oct. 29, Â·1650; d. Dec. 19, 1718, son of Robert_ andÂ· MaryÂ· (Scott) Porter, and ancestor of Governor John Treadwell, the Rev. Noah Porter and Rev. William S. Porter. â€¢ Mary Scott was dau.â€¢ of Thomas Scott of Hartford, Conn. He lived where Â·the late John E. Cowles lived. He was executor of his fathers will~ Â· (Manwaring, Vot 1, p. 422), and was also the only surviving heir.
